Staff Required for Breeding Season

An opportunity exists at one of New Zealand's leading thoroughbred stud farms for a capable person to join the Trelawney team for the breeding season.

The successful applicant will need to have sound horse experience, be a good team player and, willing to learn.

Seasonal Employment Opportunity – Yearling Staff, Oct - Feb

Trelawney Stud has positions available to assist with the preparation of our yearling draft for the 2008/2009 season.

Duties include:
• General care and handling of the yearlings throughout preparation
• Grooming, washing and treatments
• Exercise - both on the horse walker and hand walking
• Assistance in other areas of the farm is also sometimes required i.e. foaling, broodmares, breeding shed etc

Yearling preparation begins in October with the major yearling sales taking place in late January - early February 2009. All yearling staff work a six day week with one day off per-weekend (Saturday or Sunday) and on farm, shared accommodation is available.
