Stakes winner National Treasure (NZ) (Zabeel), a close relation to Group performer Ahdashim (NZ) (Elusive City) and whose first foal, a colt by Redoute’s Choice (Aus) (Danehill) fetched of A$1.5 million in the yearling sale ring, produced a bay filly by Exceed And Excel (Aus) (Danehill) on the 14th of October.
Group Two-winner Luna Tudor (Aus) (Military Plume), dam of 2009 Group One Toorak Handicap-winner Allez Wonder (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice) produced a bay colt by Elusive City (USA) (Elusive Quality) on the 8th of October.
Candy (NZ) (Grosvenor), a stakes winning sister to Group One-winner Captain Moonlight (NZ), produced a chestnut colt by General Nediym (Aus) (Nediym) on the 29th of September.
The 23rd of September saw the arrival of a bay filly by Bernadini (USA) (A P Indy) out of the stakes winning speedster Dominatrix (Aus) (Marauding). A mare with a pedigree page littered with black type, this filly already has some strong residual value before stepping foot on a racetrack.
Three days earlier the imported mare Knockncrea (GB) (Green Desert) produced her second foal, a bay filly by Champion sire O’Reilly (NZ) (Last Tycoon). This pedigree received a significant boost earlier this year with the mare’s half brother Flying Cloud (Ire) (Storming Home) the winner of the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal Ascot meeting in June.
Multiple Group-winner Real Success (Aus) (Success Express) produced a bay colt by Darci Brahma (NZ) (Danehill) on the 18th of September. This colt is a half brother to Group One Queensland Oaks-winner Vouvray (NZ) (Zabeel).
The 16th of September saw the arrival of the third foal for Group Two-winner Mistrale (NZ) (Volksraad), a bay colt by Bernadini. Purchased by Trelawney Stud upon retirement from racing, Mistrale’s pedigree features the likes of Champion two-year-old Kindacross (NZ) (Cape Cross), three-time Group One-winner Sky Chase (NZ) (Star Way) and the great racemare and producer, Kind Regards (NZ) (Le Filou).
Magic Millions-winner Vedodara (NZ) (Kreisler) is already the dam of three Group winners including Group One-winner Sharvasti (NZ) (Montjeu) and Group Three-winners Bhandara (NZ) (Zabeel) and Shastri (NZ) (Stravinsky). Vedodara produced a bay filly on the 15th of September by O’Reilly.
Carmel Valley (NZ) (Last Tycoon) has been an outstanding producer for Trelawney Stud having left three stakes performers to date including Group One-winner Hill Of Grace (NZ) (Zabeel). Eden Valley (NZ) (Zabeel), a full sister to Hill Of Grace produced her first foal this spring, a filly by Flying Spur (Aus) (Danehill).
Alisara (Ire) (Zafonic) is one of a number of young, well pedigreed mares that Trelawney have added to their broodmare band over the last few years. A half sister to 2009 dual Classic-winner Alandi (Ire) (Galileo), she is also a half sister to 2009 stakeswinner Aliyfa (Ire) (Spinning World). She produced her fourth foal in early September, a colt by Keeper (Aus) (Danehill).
Petit Verdot (NZ) (Carnegie), a full sister to VRC Derby-winner Amalfi, produced her third foal in the early spring, a colt by O’Reilly. A daughter of Rationaine (NZ) (Centaine), this pedigree page features the likes of Rationale (NZ) (Sound Reason), Wise Lass (NZ) (Straight Strike), Egoli Lass (NZ) (Kaapstad) and the more recent performers Vigor (NZ) (O’Reilly), Vincent Mangano (NZ) (No Excuse Needed) and Joey Massino (NZ) (O’Reilly).
Multiple Group-winner Sustaad (NZ) (Kaapstad) produced a Savabeel (NZ) (Zabeel) colt on the fifth of September whilst another multiple stakeswinner in Party Queen (NZ) (Gold Brose) foaled a chestnut colt by Captain Rio (GB) (Pivotal).
One of the first foals of the 2009 season was the second live foal of five-time Sydney winner Rationalize (NZ) (Marju), a brown filly by Rock Of Gibraltar (Ire) (Danehill). The filly already has a nice amount of residual value as another member of the Rationaine family.
