Group One performers bred, reared or sold by the Taylors at Trelawney Stud
Boundless (NZ) (Van Nistelrooy - Nothing Less)
Bred by Brent and Cherry Taylor of Trelawney Stud, Boundless is a graduate of Trelawney's 2006 yearling draft. Purchased for $80,000 by Trevor McKee, she is trained by his son Stephen and became her sire's first Group One winner in the Southern Hemisphere in winning the 2008 Group One New Zealand Oaks (2400m). She also ran second in the Group One AJC Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on the 30th of April 2008.
The Duke (Aus) (Danehill – Mur du Sud)
Bred by Mark and Carolyn Todd, The Duke was raised at Trelawney and sold from our 2001 Premier Yearling Draft for$200,000. Trained in Hong Kong by Casper Fownes, The Duke won the 2006 Group One Hong Kong Mile after finishing second in the same race in 2005.
Wahid (NZ) (Almutawakel – Rory’s Helen)
Bred by Trelawney and a graduate of the farm's 2004 Karaka Select draft fetching $50,000. One of the leading 2YO’s of his season and winner of the G1 Mercedes Derby and G1 Levin Classic at three.
Mr Celebrity (NZ) (Peintre Celebre – Lamora)
Born and reared at Trelawney, Mr Celebrity is a graduate of the farm’s 2002 Easter Draft. He is the winner of the G1 AJC George Main Stakes.
The Mighty Lions (NZ) (Grosvenor – Maybe Yes)
Bred and sold by Trelawney Stud, The Mighty Lions won the G1 Avondale Gold Cup and is a multiple group performer.
Vouvray (NZ) (Zabeel – Success Express)
Bred and raced by Trelawney Stud. Winner of the G1 Queensland Oaks and multiple Group performer.
Taatletail (NZ) (Faltaat – Defensive Lady)
Reared and prepared by Trelawney, Taatletail was one of the leading 3YO fillies of her season, she won the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year award. Winner of the G1 1,000 Guineas.
Carnegie Express (NZ) (Carnegie – Honeymoon Express)
Born and reared at Trelawney Stud. Winner of the G1 Rosehill Guineas and the G1 Canterbury Guineas, he finished 2nd in the G1 AJC Derby.
Amalfi (NZ) (Carnegie – Rationaine)
VRC Derby-winner bred by Trelawney and a graduate of the farm’s 2000 yearling draft.
Pernod (NZ) (Centaine – Martine Michelle)
Bred by Trelawney and raced on lease by a large group in Australia. Winner of the G1 MRC Invitation Stakes winner of multiple group races. Pernod is the dam of multiple Group-winning filly, Martini Red, bred and raced by the Taylors.
Hill Of Grace (NZ) (Zabeel – Carmel Valley)
Bred by Trelawney and sold at the 1998 Karaka Premier Sale for $85,000. Won the G1 Ansett Australia Stakes, ran 2nd in NZ Derby and NZ Oaks, the MacKinnon Stakes and the Sandown Classic – an outstanding race mare.
Moonshine (NZ) (Sound Reason – Sister Moonshine)
A product of a longstanding involvement in the thoroughbred industry by the Taylor family, Moonshine won both the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes and the G1 Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes.
Ouzo (NZ) (Oregon – Halloween)
Bred and reared at Trelawney Stud, Ouzo was named Singapore Horse of the Year in 1999 and 2000. He won 13 races from 28 starts including the Singapore Airlines International Cup and the Singapore Derby.
Black Mamba (NZ) (Black Minnalouche - Sneetch)
Black Mamba was sold as a yearling by Trelawney Stud at the Premier Sale for $120,000 to Cambridge trainer Murray Baker. She was exported to America and won the Group One Del Mar John C Mabee Handicap, Group Two Hollywood Beverly Hills Handicap twice and four other races. Her total career earnings were $981,135.
